Unite for UK Climate Action Campaign
At the end of last year, OnePlanet ran the ‘Unite for UK Climate Action’ campaign. The aim was to bring together a group of Young Leaders to create a systems-map of UK Climate Policy using the OnePlanet platform. Nearly 50 UK Local Government climate action plans have been mapped so far. This helped to inform the other output of the campaign: the Young Leaders’ Climate Action Manifesto.
Young Leaders’ Climate Action Manifesto
The Young Leaders’ Climate Action Manifesto was first published last year. The Young Leaders outlined 30 Outcomes that they feel local governments should be working toward. We have now published an interactive version of this on the OnePlanet platform. This version sees the Outcomes linked together with supporting Actions. These contain example case studies based on the best practice we’ve seen across the 50 Local Government action plans that were mapped.
How to navigate on OnePlanet
Click here to see the OnePlanet version of the Young Leaders’ Climate Action Manifesto. You will see a set of nodes (Outcomes, Actions and Indicators) all linked together. The links communicate which Actions or Indicators support each Outcome. Therefore, if an Action is linked to multiple Outcomes, this communicates its co-benefits.
If you click on any of the nodes, a side bar will appear with more details. Case studies and guides have been attached to most of the Actions. To access these, simply click on an Action, go to Additional Data and click on the Case Studies tab.
To filter the Manifesto, click on the right hand side to focus on the topics that are of most interest to you. You can also view the plan based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or the One Planet Living Framework. To switch between frameworks, click on the Lens button in the top left hand corner.
