COMMUNITY GROUPS

Collaborating to demonstrate new ways of working

Overview

At OnePlanet, we believe that everyone has a part to play in creating a sustainable future. We want to support community groups in their efforts to make positive impact in their local areas.

That’s why we make the platform and our customer support services available for free to community groups.

The OnePlanet platform is fantastic. The first time I came across it, I knew that it was just what I was looking for. From someone who has difficulty with computers, I loved it at once because it was so intuitive. We have 455 different organisations on our resource map, and I haven't even begun to scratch the surface. So it's just an absolute blessing for me to have found OnePlanet.

Benefits

Some of the benefits of using OnePlanet as a community group include:

Access to the OnePlanet Platform: Our platform is a framework for collaboration around Shared Outcomes with other local stakeholders. You’ll have access to tools,  resources and training sessions to help you develop your Action Plans and connect with others

Demonstrate your impact: We’ll help you show how your organisation is already contributing towards existing strategic plans in the area such as those of your local government. This will help you demonstrate the value of your work to potential funders and partners including your local government.

Collaborate with other groups: By becoming OnePlanet users, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with other community groups and stakeholders through our networks. This will enable you to work together to achieve common goals and to share resources and knowledge.

The platform is such a good interactive way for people to find out exactly what is going on in the local area in terms of sustainability. It allowed me personally to join up the dots in terms of seeing the big picture about what's going on in the local area … in a way that was very visual and very interactive.

Funding

We support community groups to work towards their goals without money being a barrier through;

  • Making the platform free for you to use
  • Sponsorship of Community Ecosystems
  • Offering our services at extra low prices for grant funded projects led by community groups
  • Training community groups on how to use the platform to evidence their impacts for grant applications or reporting
  • Promoting community groups’ work through our social media and marketing

As I watched the Mind Map opening up, I just sat there and went, oh my goodness, this is exactly what I’ve got inside my head! I’ve actually found what I’m looking for.
