OnePlanet is a proven tool for driving systems change. The first course will be limited to eight participants. The course is aimed at individuals who are motivated to use their skills and position to pioneer the use of OnePlanet to maximise change in their ecosystem.

About this course

The world is experiencing a polycrisis of interconnected challenges in climate, health, jobs and equity. This causes people to feel overwhelmed and disempowered. 

OnePlanet’s Systems Connector training will help you Reimagine your own role in your work and provide you with a practical tool to drive change within your organisation or with clients, and externally with their wider ecosystem of stakeholders. 

Throughout the course, you will learn from OnePlanet’s experts and contribute with fellow participants to a wider systems change movement. During the training you will: 

  • Learn about systems thinking and systems reimagining 
  • Receive training in the use of the OnePlanet software to systems map, share, connect and collaborate in ecosystems 
  • Receive access to the platform to apply your new knowledge 
  • Be invited to a network of Systems Connectors
 

The online training is run in two sessions in small groups, with a maximum of 8 people in attendance. 

Upon completion, participants are invited to undergo an assessment to become a Certified OnePlanet Systems Connector™ which enables you to have your own profile on the OnePlanet platform.

Course content

  1. MAP: Systems map plans to understand the links between critical issues 
  2. SHARE: Develop and publish plans to start building ecosystems 
  3. CONNECT: Understand your ecosystem and identify your points of leverage 
  4. COLLABORATE: Identify and work with stakeholders to increase impact 

Course trainers

The course is run by Ben Gill, a Chartered Environmentalist (ISEP) with 20 years experience in a systems approach to sustainability and qualified coach. He is supported by Tash Barnes, systems change consultant for course delivery and Catriona Macleod, who has a degree in Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods shaped the course design. 

Pooran Desai, OnePlanet’s founder and whose work inspired the UN Sustainable Development Goals, will provide the introduction and context.  

 

Becoming certified

Following the course, participants can undergo an assessment to become a certified OnePlanet Systems Connector with a profile on OnePlanet.  

The assessment will test: 

  • Your practical understanding of the OnePlanet platform  
  • How you are / planning to use OnePlanet to drive change within your organisation or with clients or stakeholders.

The assessment process includes:

  • One group training  
  • 2 x 1-1 sessions  
  • The assessment  
  • Six months access to OnePlanet platform (to complete the assessment).  
 

On successful completion of the assessment, you will receive a further 12 months of platform access.
