COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Collaborating to demonstrate new ways of working

Overview

At OnePlanet, we believe that everyone has a part to play in creating a sustainable future. That’s why we’ve developed a Community Partnership Programme to support local community and environmental groups in their efforts to make a positive impact in their area.

Our programme is designed to overcome any barriers to entry, foster relationships, increase capacity, and build on that initial enthusiasm. We provide access to our platform and services without money being a barrier to entry.

The OnePlanet platform is fantastic. The first time I came across it, I knew that it was just what I was looking for. From someone who has difficulty with computers, I loved it at once because it was so intuitive. We have 455 different organisations on our resource map, and I haven't even begun to scratch the surface. So it's just an absolute blessing for me to have found OnePlanet.

Revenue Generation

We support our Community Partners to work towards revenue generation through;

  • Securing new contracts with clients
  • Grant funded projects
  • Sponsorship of ecosystems

Ideally, we want to see a funded full or part time role in your area to support local organisations to map their action plans, link them to the community ecosystem, identify opportunities for collaboration and coordinate coordinated action.

The platform is such a good interactive way for people to find out exactly what is going on in the local area in terms of sustainability. It allowed me personally to join up the dots in terms of seeing the big picture about what's going on in the local area … in a way that was very visual and very interactive.

Benefits

Some of the benefits of our program include:

Access to the OnePlanet Platform: Our platform is a framework for collaboration around Shared Outcomes with other local stakeholders. You’ll have access to tools and resources to help you develop your Action Plans and connect with other community groups.

Demonstrate your impact: We’ll help you show how your organisation is already contributing towards existing strategic plans in the area such as those of your local government. This will help you demonstrate the value of your work to potential funders and partners including your local government.

Collaborate with other groups: By joining our partnership programme, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with other community groups and stakeholders. This will enable you to work together to achieve common goals and share resources and knowledge.

Generate revenues: Our program offers opportunities to generate revenues promoting, selling and delivering services, as well as through joint funding applications and sponsorship opportunities. This will help you to sustain your activities over the long-term and build a self-sufficient and resilient community.

As I watched the Mind Map opening up, I just sat there and went, oh my goodness, this is exactly what I’ve got inside my head! I’ve actually found what I’m looking for.
