Grow - A One Planet Community on Bainbridge Island

The British Embassy in Russia held their first Digital Festival in October 2020. The name of the event was ‘Different Ever After’. Covid19 has resulted in many people and places having to operate and think a little differently. The British Embassy decided to use this opportunity to celebrate and encourage different; different thinking, different tools, all for a very different, but increasingly experienced, reality.

The Embassy’s aim was to bring together the best of contemporary British
science and innovation around sustainable development, green economy and accessibility and to blend these with education, arts and culture.

Pooran Desai, CEO of OnePlanet.com contributed to the digital festival with an article on the BedZED development (see link below). BedZED – one of the world’s first zero carbon urban villages opened the Green Entrepreneur Gallery.

The Ambassador, Deborah Bronnert, was kind enough to write and thank Pooran for his invaluable contribution.

The Festival has received a great deal of positive feedback and is inspiring people all over the world. Head over to the media partner “Theory and Practice” to take a look at Pooran’s article and some of the other influencial contributions.
