Can OnePlanet underpin a UK National Strategy?

We are delighted to share our recommendations on how OnePlanet can support creation of a joined-up National Strategy for the UK.

The National Strategy Project (NSP) is led by Catherine Day, UK Cabinet Office and Robyn Scott of Apolitical. In an increasingly divided country with trust in government at historic low levels, the NSP aims to create long term strategy for the UK through a participatory process involving all sectors of society. It is ambitious aiming to create

  • a way to face the future with realism and hope – and the systems and leadership to renew our democracy, economy and society;
  • a blueprint for long-term renewal, starting with a world-first public deliberation that brings people together to imagine a better future – and chart the course to get there; and
  • an independent process about people, not party politics.

Thanks to the South Downs National Park Authority and Innovate UK, we were able to work with Catherine, her team and the wider NSP community to test the ability of OnePlanet to join the dots across key policy areas of the economy, health, climate, national security and migration.
