Our project in partnership with the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA), funded by Innovate UK Net Zero Living is heading into it’s final months. And to mark the start of the end, Chris Fairbrother from SDNPA and I attended the London quarterly gathering for all of the projects funded by Innovate.
It was a 2-day occasion hosted by Sustainable Ventures in County Hall, the home of Climate Tech; filled with project showcases, conversations with Local Governments from all over the country, workshops on citizen engagement, and food during every break!

I really enjoyed learning so much about how other projects are managing the change transition – the theme for this event. Hearing about this journey from other perspectives has provided alternative lenses with which to view it from ours. One of the projects we heard from was by Lambeth Council, the borough we were in. It was lovely to dive into their work on a Climate Partnership, as well as hear from others about retrofit, engaging offline communities with an online toolkit, and implementing change in more rural/traditional areas.
I was equally tired and inspired on my return to business as usual the following day, with lots to share with the team and a fresh perspective on the project.
