OnePlanet use network database technology to enable users to see connections and for us to analyse data. Network databases are technically called graph databases. Unlike more conventional ‘cellular’ databases that store information in rows and columns, graph databases reveal information about connections and relationships.
This means relationships can be visualised intuitively making it easier to understand interconnections between different outcomes that our customers want to achieve. For example, we can make it easy for our customers to see the links between carbon emissions, how food is grown, and the impacts on their health. In this way we can help users understand how to act in a more joined-up way.
