Head of One Planet Living
I lead Bioregional's One Planet Living initiative, offering resources and support around the world for partners serious about sustainability. Based at our Oxfordshire regional office in the UK, I also lead a programme of activities across Oxfordshire.
I’m a cyclist, a hill walker, a musician, a low meat lapsing wannabe vegan and I’m finding it hard to stay off the flying.
At Bioregional, I’m responsible for seeing that the worldwide One Planet Living framework is available and relevant to thousands of users everywhere. I have a particular focus on One Planet cities and regions. I have been leading the amazing One Planet Oxfordshire pilot in partnership with the county council and many local stakeholders.
In former lives I have been a civil engineer, tunnelling new underground routes under London Bridge and hydro schemes in Asia and Africa. I’ve been a tree protester at Newbury and a cattle rancher in British Columbia, Canada.
I was lucky enough to learn my sustainability trade on BedZED, Bioregional’s first zero carbon housing project and now the home of our head office.
Since then I’ve worked on the London Olympics and the NW Bicester Eco Town. I currently sit on the Board of the multi-million-pound Oxfutures II programme, growing Oxfordshire’s low carbon economy and I’m a Director for a brilliant new endeavour called Oxfordshire Greentech, a business network for a low carbon future in Oxfordshire.
